Our investment in training and development incorporates all types of professional skills and we actively encourage our employees to propose their own ideas for personal development.

Training is a core element of our success, particularly with the responsibilities entrusted to us in keeping our customers safe, and we invest in our people at all levels. We are especially proud of the 54 colleagues we employed as apprentices during the year, and are pleased to say that many of our senior employees began their careers in the Group as apprentices.

We operate a Group Learning Management System ('LMS'), a remote learning system which makes it easier for staff to complete the necessary training obligations. LMS is set up to ensure our people continue to be trained to a high standard, especially in health and safety. As an online system, it allows us to deliver training efficiently, saving considerable amounts of our people’s time, and to monitor their compliance.
